SAFEGUARDING
A Safe Parish Is A Shared Responsibility
Our Parish is committed to Safeguarding.
All children and at-risk peoples who come to Wodonga Catholic Parish have a right to feel and be safe.
Zero Tolerance to Abuse
The welfare of children and all vulnerable people in our parish community, will always be our first priority, we have a zero tolerance to abuse and aim to create a safe and friendly environment where children, the vulnerable and all people feel safe in our parish community.
Wodonga Catholic Parish upholds the importance of the safety and wellbeing of children and all peoples of differing abilities. We empower families, children, young people, staff and all parishioners to have a voice and raise concerns where necessary.
WCP Staff and Volunteers:
Wodonga Catholic Parish staff and volunteers encourage children and at-risk persons to express their views.
We listen to their suggestions, especially on matters that directly affect them.
We actively encourage all children and at-risk persons, who use our services, to ‘have a say’ about things that are
important to them. We encourage parents and carers to teach children and risk persons what they can do if they feel unsafe.
We listen to and act on concerns children and at-risk persons, or their parents/carers, raise with us.
We value diversity and inclusiveness in our Parish.
If you have any questions or concerns about safety within our Parish, please feel free to speak with Sonni 0260243366 or refer to the reporting process document below:
